New Indian Cultural Center office-bearers take charge for 2021-22

Doha: New management committee has taken charge at the Indian Cultural Center (ICC), an apex body of Indian Embassy, and held their first meeting on January 27, 2021.

The new committee for 2021-22 under President P N Babu Rajan, which was elected last month through a mobile application, DIGIPOLL, developed by Embassy of India, in their first meeting assigned positions to various committee members.

Subramanya Hebbagelu was chosen as Vice President, Krishna Kumar Bandhakavi as General Secretary, Sudhir  Gupta as  Secretary, Arshad Ali as Head of Finance, Anish George Mathew as Head of HR, Premises, Shweta Koshti as Head of Cultural activities, Kamla Dhansingh Thakur as Activity Coordinator and Education, Mohan Kumar as Head of Inhouse Activities, Afsal Abdul Majeed as Head of Consular Services and External Events and Sajeev Sathyseelan as Head of Affiliation and membership. Managing Committee allocations were done based on background and experience in various organizational positions held.

The election, held online for the first time to avoid mass gathering for manual voting process in the current COVID-19 situation, saw huge turnout with more than 95 percent voters taking part. Results were declared 30min after closing of polls.
