Doha: Vodafone Qatar was announced as the official Telecom Sponsor of the inaugural edition of the El Captain Futsal tournament, which will run until 19 February at Qatar University.

The tournament, dedicated to honouring the late Captain Saeed Al Misnad, is a six-week indoor football league featuring 8 teams and 96 players, with two match days per week and nine matches per day.

Captain Saeed Al Mesnad was a pivotal figure in Qatari football, whose contributions have left a lasting legacy.

He began his career in 1968 at Al Taawon“Al Khor” Club and ended it as a technical advisor during one of the world's largest sporting events which was held in Qatar in 2022.
