Qatar- Hugely successful S'hail hunting and falcons expo concludes at Katara on Saturday


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The fourth edition of S'hail Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition, which has been drawing a good turnout since its opening on Tuesday, is set to conclude on Saturday at Katara the Cultural Village Foundation.
Abdulaziz al-Buhashim, director of S'hail 2020, said the current edition of the Katara-organised exhibition has achieved considerable success, reinforcing its position as a specialised international event in hunting and falcons. It is also considered an important commercial event for the local economy and achieves tangible positive results, due to the related sales and transactions made throughout the event.
"Katara has overcome the involved challenges and has been able to organise a successful event in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Our model can be followed in hosting and organising major international events and exhibitions in Qatar and the region, while maintaining the health and safety of all the participants and visitors," the official said.
Al-Buhashim pointed out that S'hail 2020 has established itself as a hot destination for hunting and falcon fans, and the lovers of hiking and camping, as it gives them a broad selection of the best and most sophisticated tools and equipment. It also hosts some important related competitions, and cultural events on the sidelines.
This year's edition has attracted a record number of exhibitors from the companies specialised in hunting weapons, necessities and tools, which have in turn captured the attention of the visitors for their innovative display. These companies have also praised the organisation of the event and stressed that it has given them an excellent platform to enhance their business and reach out to more customers and potential for tie-up with local partners.
S'hail 2020 has enjoyed the participation of many government entities and a good number of ministries including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar Red Crescent Society, and Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital, in addition to a number of related entities, natural reserves and societies that actively participate offering visitors and exhibitors the necessary support and services in their realm.
The exhibition holds a daily online falcon auction, where bidders from inside and outside the exhibition could take part. It also features an exhibition of handicrafts and two competitions with prices for the most beautiful commercial pavilion and another for the most beautiful falcon eye mask.
There are 112 participating companies from 13 countries, such as Kuwait, Pakistan, the US, the UK, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Lebanon, Portugal, Romania, France and Hungary, besides Qatar. The timings today are from 9am to noon and 4pm to 10pm, with disinfection of the venue taking place between 2pm and 4pm.
