Myanmar detains large amount of unlawful drugs


(MENAFN)The Myanmar authorities have confiscated a large quantity of ammonium nitrate in Kachin state, according to an update from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Sunday, October 11.

The joint anti-narcotic Police made a confiscation in Mohnyin township on Friday, October 9.

Over 17,460 kilograms of ammonium nitrate worth more than 19 million kyats ( USD14,733) were detained from a 12-wheeled truck along with three suspects.

The township police filed a case against the suspects and more investigation is undergoing under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the report stated.
