Myanmar: Over 77 tons of unlawful timbers snatched
(MENAFN) Myanmar authorities lately removed 77 tons of unlawful timbers in Bago area in a week, according to an update from the Forest Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation on Monday, September 28.
The release stated that the eliminations which were made from September 21 to 27 within the area of Bago Yoma mountain range included teak, hardwood and other types of timbers.
Unlawful logging often happens in the region though the authorities have forbidden all logging operation within the region of Bago Yoma mountain range for a 10-year period starting from financial year (FY) 2016-2017.
