Doha: MES Indian School has commemorated Teachers' Day with traditional pomp and gaiety. A colourful ceremony to honour and felicitate teachers was conducted on the virtual platform. On this occasion, teachers were paid glowing tribute for their commendable service rendered towards the betterment of younger generation.
K Abdul Karim, President Officiating, MES Governing Board was the Chief Guest, and P K Mohamed, General Secretary and K P Abdul Azeez, Director Academic were the Guests of Honour for the programme.
The Chief Guest, K Abdul Karim, extolled teachers for their tireless efforts and recalled their unconditional support especially in these exceptional times of pandemic. 'The virtual mode of classes organised by the school was a great success and of immense help to students in continuing their learning in an uninterrupted fashion, said Abdul Karim.
P K Mohamed, General Secretary appreciated the vital role played by teachers in shaping the destiny of the young world with the utmost diligence, sincerity and hard work.
K P Abdul Azeez, in his address, thanked the teaching fraternity for having exhibited greater resilience with unwavering determination by working relentlessly and adapting quickly to the new normal.
The school Principal, Hameeda Kadar complimented the teachers for their phenomenal role in dispelling the darkness of ignorance among students and for exhibiting sincere dedication during the hard times inflicted by the pandemic.
She also urged the teachers to continue with their good work for the benefit of the student community in a committed manner without compromising on quality. Rajendran S and Cheryl Soans, teacher representatives from the Boys‘ Section and the KG Section respectively delivered felicitations on the occasion. The loyal and devoted service of the teachers, who put in long years of service viz, 10, 15, and 20 years in this institution were honoured befittingly on the occasion.
The recorded rendition of a medley of songs, poem recitation, skit and dance by the teachers added colour and grandeur to the programme. Sameer Panday, a teacher in the Department of Hindi donned as Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and delivered the Teachers' Day message. On September 4, 2020, a Quiz competition was conducted on the virtual mode for students in connection with the Teachers' Day celebration.
Anver K, Cultural Coordinator of the school coordinated the event. The ICT Department under the guidance of Haroon Muhammed provided the technical support for the smooth conduct of the programme.
