Jordan- Higher Education Ministry embraced ambitious plans to support university e-learning experience, says Touq


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 3 (Petra)- The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohieldin Touq, said Wednesday, the courses that went online at the Kingdom's universities since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic amounted to 20,258.
On course digitization rate, he said a 82.21 percent of the courses in the 2nd academic semester 2019/2020 at the Jordanian public universities were accessible online, ,while the rate at private higher education institutions HEIs for the same semester hit 94.93 percent.
In a press statement to "Petra," he said 326,643 students accessed the e-platforms at public universities , a 77.07 percent of the total registrants, while 133,749 peers at private HEIs accessed online curricula, at a 88,81 percent of their student numbers.
On the gradual progress, he said these percentages have continued to rise, hitting until the 6th week of the e-learning process at the e-course level to 94.5 percent at public universities and 99.27 percent at private HEIs, up by 12.29-4.34 percent for public, private universities, respectively.
The number of student who benefited from the e-courses amounted to 417,373 and 168,294 at public, private universities, respectively, he pointed out.
