Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Grenada

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov and Ambassador of Grenada to Russia Oleg Firer signed the Joint Communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Grenada,Trendreports citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.

The signing ceremony took place at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow on Oct. 11. The document notes that Uzbekistan and Grenada, wishing to develop and strengthen mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and guided by the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and international law, decided to establish diplomatic relations.

The ambassadors of the two countries discussed the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Grenada in areas of mutual interest, including within the framework of international organizations.

Grenada is an island nation in the Caribbean that occupies the island of Grenada and the southern part of the Grenadines in the Lesser Antilles group. The capital is the city of St. George.
