Afghanistan- Ghani Claims Killing Nearly 2,000 Taliban Last Week


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - President MohammadAshraf Ghani on Friday claimed around 2,000 Taliban insurgents have been killedin the past one week.
'I don't like bloodshed, buttoday I would like to share a figures with you so that Taliban leader couldunderstand. Nearly 2,000 Taliban have been killed in the past one week and theTaliban political office is responsible for this. We wanted ceasefire the wayit happened in last year Eid and the dead Taliban would have not been in thiscondition, the president told a gathering at the Loya Jirga hall.
He added, former Director ofthe National Directorate of Security (NDS) Masoum Stanikzai was dismissed afterthe killing of four civilians in Nangarhar province last week.
'I removed Stanikzai within twominutes after the incident and told them that I would part my ways if the casualtiesof innocent civilians continues and you observe daily that who is responsiblefor the killing of civilians. The president said. (Pajhwok)
