Riyadh sacks head of civil aviation authority GACA
(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: The president of Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulhakim bin Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Tamimi has been 'sacked' from his position, as per a royal order issued by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The royal order instructed the relevant authorities to carry it out, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported without providing further details.
Al-Tamimi was appointed to the post in June 2017 at the rank of minister.
A pilot by profession, Al-Tamimi served as the first Saudi helicopter commander at Aramco's the Arab Helicopter Company.
He also worked with Learjet and Hawker aircrafts, in the Armed Forces, at UAE company CAE, and at NAS.
Al-Tamimi also established the first Saudi company specialising in aerial photography and surveillance. Also, from 2008 to 2015, was CEO of the Gulf Aviation Technology Company.
His replacement has not yet been revealed, according to Gulf Business website.
