
Jordan- Prince Hassan inaugurates judo, taekwondo championships
(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, president of the Higher Council for Self-Defence Sports, on Sunday inaugurated the 10th Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships, held at Al Hussein Youth City's Prince Hamza Hall.
The inauguration was attended by Jordan Taekwondo Federation President HRH Prince Rashid, HRH Princess Zeina Rashed, president of the Olympic preparation programme and Asian Taekwondo Union President Kyu-seok Lee.
On the first day of the competition, Jordan's team won six medals, including one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. Also on Sunday, Prince Hassan inaugurated the West Asia Judo Championship at Al Hussein Youth City's Princess Sumaya Hall. Jordanian, Saudi, Kuwaiti, Qatari, Yemeni, Palestinian and Lebanese teams are competing at the championship, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
