(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 4 (KUNA) -- 1961 -- Secretary General of the Arab League Abdul-Khaleq Hassouna arrives in Kuwait to help resolve a Kuwaiti-Iraqi crisis, after allegations by Iraqi President Abdul-Karim Qassem against Kuwait. He met the late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah who showed cooperation to find an Arab solution to the issue.
1961 -- As many as 7,000 British and 150 Saudi soldiers are deployed along the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border.
1992 -- Kuwait satellite television channel is launched on Arabsat.
1995 -- The National Assembly approves a draft law allowing naturalized citizens to take part in elections.
1999 -- Computerized system is inaugurated for issuance of civil identification cards.
2000 -- Kuwait allows Bahrainis to enter the country with only their civil identification cards.
2000 -- Kuwaiti Television director Kathim Al-Qallaf, 54, dies after a long history in television production in the Arab world.
2001 -- Minister of Commerce and Industry Salah Khorshid opens a new customs building at Kuwait International Airport.
2001 -- Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) benchmark exceeds 1,700 points for the first time since December 7, 1998, rising 19.7 points and closing at 1,706.
2005 -- The Kuwaiti Government signs a memo of understanding with the United States of America on border crossing cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq.
2013 -- Kuwait tops Gulf fencing tournament held in Qatar with 19 medals.
2018 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurates Terminal 4 (T4) at Kuwait International Airport. The building hosts Kuwait Airways flights and it has a holding capacity of 4.5 million passengers annually. (end) gta
