Kenya to raise affordable housing supply

(MENAFN) Kenya was announced to be mulling over a move that would increase the supply of affordable housing across the country.

Executing a raft of land reforms for this purpose are likely to be witnessed in Kenya amid a number of issues the housing sector in the country is suffering from.

Those challenges include high prices for land for housing development, causing a surge in housing deficit, stated chief administrative secretary at Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, Chris Obure.

Obure stated: "the government is planning a number of reforms that will facilitate and make it easier for real estate developers to access land through facilitating the identification, registration and transfer to the investors."
