Turkish warplanes destroy PKK terror position in N. Iraq

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Turkey's Defense Ministry stated that Turkish warplanes struck PKK terrorist positions in northern Iraq.

The ministry emphasized in a statement that the air attacks completely damaged weapon pits and shelters used by PKK terrorists in the Hakurk and Metina regions.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK - considered as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU - has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 40,000 people, including women and children.
