The fire which broke out in Omidiyeh-Ahvaz oil pipeline, located in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan Province, has been put out, Ahmad Mohammadi, CEO of National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to him, this pipeline was transporting oil to Isfahan Oil Refinery.
Work is currently underway on establishing the safety of the pipeline, Mohammadi added.
"Isfahan Oil Refinery and Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant are being supplied with fuel through alternative fuel pipelines," he said.
A fire broke out on May 6 in the Omidiyeh-Ahvaz oil pipeline, 5 kilometers away from the city of Omidiyeh. The fire was caused by oil leakage, after a bulldozer hit the 42-inch pipeline during repair work. The fire also spread to a nearby 12-inch gas pipeline.
