(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- Palestinian movements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad said on Sunday their teams have arrived in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials on the latest Palestinian situation and national reconciliation.
Hamas delegation, led by political bureau chief Ismail Haniya, has already turned up in the Egyptian capital to meet with officials mainly on political issues and bilateral ties, the movement's media office said in a statement.
Islamic Jihad's Secretary-General Zyad Al-Nakhala, leading a factional team, is now in Cairo at the invitation of the Egyptian leadership, the group said in a press release.
An Egyptian intelligence delegation had talks with Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. (end) wab.mt
