WASHINGTON, Dec. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, December 6, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) hosted the 7th annual embassy showcase, Winternational. Presented by World Trade Center Washington, DC (WTCDC) 51 embassies and over 4,000 visitors took part in the lively midday celebration of international culture, travel, and tourism. Secretary of the District of Columbia, Lauren Vaughan delivered Mayor Muriel Bowser's proclamation declaring December 6, 2018 as "Winternational Day" and highlighted how this occasion fosters relationships between the diplomatic community and the residents of DC, elevating this city as a global destination. The Chief of Protocol for the U.S. State Department, Ambassador Sean Lawler, offered welcome remarks expressing his support for this initiative as a way for building bridges of understanding where attendees are able to share their cultural heritage with one another – learn from one another and to celebrate with one another.
