Kuwait Week kicks off in Cairo
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- The 11th Kuwait Week exhibition, themed "Kuwait in Egypt," opened on Tuesday under auspices of Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Egyptian Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram inaugurated the event, which gathered more than 80 government and non-government institutions from both countries.
The exhibition serves as bridge for cultural, economic and social interaction between Kuwait and Egypt, said Ahmad Behbehani, chairman of Al-Jabriya Exhibition Group, of Kuwait.
The two countries enjoy deep-rooted exemplary tires that kept growing in the course of time, he told KUNA on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, welcoming the large number of participants in the event.
Director General of the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior Brig. Tawheed Al-Kandari reaffirmed the keenness of the ministry on taking part in such events that materialize the sisterly ties with Egypt.
On her part, Hanaa Al-Asfour, representative of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information, lauded the growing media cooperation between the two countries, saying that media plays a key role in strengthening the state-to-state and people-to-people relations.
The participants in the event from the Kuwaiti side include the Martyr's Bureau of the Amiri Diwan, the ministries of defense, interior, information, oil, health, education and Awqaf, as well as Embassy in Cairo, Kuwait Office for Charity Projects - Cairo, the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), and the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK).
