Minister: Azerbaijan should have legal framework on sponsorships in culture sphere

In Azerbaijan, the issues of allocating funds to the cultural sector should be resolved within the framework of legislation on sponsorship, the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev said at a joint meeting of parliamentary committees on culture, labor and social policy, family, women and children, science, education and health care in the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The minister proposed creating a legislative base for expanding the sponsorships in the cultural sector.

"Presently, the cultural sector is funded in a centralized order. Much work is being done on optimization in the cultural sector, in connection with which certain steps have been taken to dismiss unnecessary job positions and more rational spending of funds," Garayev said.
