Pakistan- FATA Striker wins first ever KP women T20 super league


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Women Cricket Team of tribal areas known as FATA Strikers won the first ever Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women T20 super league after defeating Rawalpindi Hitters by 110 runs in the final match played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket stadium on Monday.

While batting first, FATA Strikers made 165 runs in allotted twenty overs with excellent and aggressive batting by Aisha and Ramim Shahmim who made 53 and 36 runs respectively. The skipper of FATA team Jaweria Rauf also made 29 score.

Fatima from Ralwapindi Hitter did excellent bowling by taking 3 wickets while Saba sent two players back to the pavilion.

Chasing the target of 165, Rawalpindi women team was all out at 55 runs. Haling from Karachi, International cricketer and captain of FATA Strikers Javeria Rauf was declared the best batswoman of the tournament. She made three centuries in three matches consecutively which is a record performance at national level. Whereas Madiha Gul was declared as best player of the league.

The honorary Counsel General of Japan in Peshawar Fazl-e-Kareem was the chief guest of the final ceremony who distributed prizes among the two teams. International Cricketers Wajahatullah Wasti, Arshah Khan and owner of Malik Cricket Academy Malik Farman were also present to witness the final match.

Eight women cricket teams from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Kashmir, FATA and some districts of KP province participated in the first ever Khyber Pakhtunkhwa women T20 super league in the country.
