279 White Helmets volunteers leave Jordan

(MENAFN) Jordan saw the departure of hundreds members of the Syrian White Helmets civil defense agency.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced the members of the White Helmets to have headed to western countries from Jordan.

The Jordanian ministry issued a statement on Wednesday, unveiling that "a total of 279 civil defense volunteers have left the kingdom."

However, the ministry refrained from disclosing the destinations of White Helmets members after they left Jordan.

The government declared around 422 White Helmets volunteers to have made their way to Jordan for a short-term in July, before facing resettlement in western countries.
