KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: In a bid to ease the difficulties that families of the disabled face in their day to day lives, MP Saleh Ashour submitted a proposal on the establishment of specialized schools for the disabled in every governorate.

The MP cited Article 13 of the Constitution stating that education is the cornerstone of social advancement and the State should guarantee it. He said families carry the burden of transporting their disabled family members to schools daily, so building specialized schools in every governorate will ease their burden and reduce the time they spend on the roads due to traffic congestion.

Furthermore, Ashour asserted that no MP is exempted from finding solutions to problems of the nation. He said every MP bears the responsibility of following up measures taken by ministers to address the lopsided population structure issue. He warned that delays in finding solutions to this problem have social, financial and security repercussions; hence, the need for full implementation of the employees replacement policy in all governmental bodies and institutions.

Commenting on the same issue, MP Mohammed Al-Hadiya claimed there has been no tangible progress in terms of dealing with the employment crisis despite the existence of laws that paved way for the implementation of the replacement policy. He added the ministers in charge of these issues should intensify their efforts as the Kuwaiti public does not see any progress, indicating the National Assembly must take the necessary steps in the upcoming legislative term.
