DIFC, Finance Innovation sign deal on FinTech cooperation

(MENAFN) A memorandum of understanding was declared to have been signed between Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and Paris-based Finance Innovation on financial technology (FinTech).

The partnership "will support the development of the FinTech ecosystem in both markets and facilitate knowledge sharing between regulatory and financial communities," as stressed DIFC in a statement on its website.

CEO of DIFC Authority Arif Amiri and CEO of Finance Innovation Joelle Durieux have signed the agreement, as a major part of the FinTech Community Conference in Paris.

The DIFC chief said "we will explore potential collaboration related to our FinTech funds and strengthen efforts to support the growth of the regional FinTech and venture capital ecosystem."

Durieux also said "Dubai is one of the fastest growing FinTech markets and DIFC has paved the way for small and medium-sized enterprises to develop and test their products within an internationally-recognized regulatory framework and a robust financial ecosystem."
