S. Philippine: 9 drug suspects shot dead amid raid
(MENAFN) In southern Philippines' North Cotabato province, nine people suspected of drug crimes have been killed amid a raid.
The suspects have opened fire against police officers who raided their base under a search warrant, as explained police officer Bernard Tayong of the North Cotabato Police.
The officer added that during the raid, "(the suspects) fought and engaged law enforcers in heavy firefight."
The police officer revealed that even though the team did not find drugs, they did discover firearms, including improvised 50-caliber barre sniper rifle.
