The non-resident Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Qatar Pavol Svetik said that the National Day of the State of Qatar is an occasion to remember the great achievements and successes of the country so far. He stressed that the Slovak people wish every success and prosperity to the State of Qatar and its friendly people.
HE said that Slovakia is interested in the continued cooperation with its Qatari partners in all fields of common interest especially as both countries have a lot to offer to each other in various fields, such as economy, business, trade, tourism, culture and sport. He believes that the political and economic siege imposed on the State of Qatar by some neighbouring countries is a temporary difficulty and can be overcome and resolved through joint efforts, stressing that the current situation does not serve anyone. He added that Slovakia, as a member state of the European Union, shares the firm view that sitting at the dialogue table is the only way to resolve any crisis or disagreement and to find common and mutually satisfactory solutions to all issues and differences.
