Jordan- King meets with chair of Russian Federation Council
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Monday, met with Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, and discussed with her Jordanian-Russian ties and ways to cement the two-way economic cooperation.
The talks dealt with the fight against extremism and terrorism. In this context, His Majesty the King underlined the need to support regional and international efforts to address terrorism which threatens world peace and stability.
Matviyenko hailed Jordan as an oasis of security and stability in the region. She spoke about her country's efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria, emphasizing the importance of closer international cooperation to fight the terrorist Daesh group.
