(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The government voiced regret over the martyrdom of five Saudi military personnel during clashes in Najran province on the border with Yemen.

State Minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani expressed the government's support to Saudi the government and people, and praised Saudi Arabia's honorable stances towards Jordan as well as the distinguished ties between the two countries and their leaderships.

Momani, who is also the government's spokesperson, offered condolences to the Saudi government and people as well as families of the victims.

A statement issued by the Saudi-led coalition late last night said that the Saudi soldiers were killed in the line of duty near the southern Najran province.
