600 young Saudis distribute clothes
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Around 600 young Saudi men and women participated in a campaign called 'Aisha' by distributing clothes as gifts among the needy families in Jeddah.
The aim of the campaign with the slogan 'We clothe and love them' is to provide cheer and happiness during Eid. The clothes are collected from donor families and given to hose who need them.
The Aisha campaign is popular and the organizers are intending to expand it in the future.
The participants spent four hours daily going around the city to give the gifts.
A participant said he had just finished handing over 5000 gifts under the campaign which is being held for the fifth year in a row.
The participants also relied on social networking sites to deliver information and to get the message across to intended recipients of the gifts.
They communicated with some 5000 households this year regarding the campaign and also made sure to tell the beneficiaries that the campaign is limited to giving clothes as gifts.
