Saudi- SR70m allocated to support health specialties yearly
(MENAFN- Arab News) A Royal Decree has been issued to increase the annual budget of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) to SR70 million over a period of three years, said Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.
The ministry and its facilities will benefit from uncovering forged certificates, documenting them and developing health education.
"The commission has become a well-known reference point for discovering forged certificates and documenting them, which adds more quality to health education in the Kingdom and the world at large," he added.
Al-Rabeeah said, "All government and private health establishments depend on the commission for its training programs, which contributes to nationalizing jobs across health sectors. There are 64 general and accurate specializations in the private and public sectors."
The ministry has extensive experience in monitoring diseases and controlling viral infections, especially during the Haj and Umrah seasons. The Health Minister expressed satisfaction with the launch of the administrative offices of the SCFHS in Jeddah, which coincided with the 83rd anniversary of the Kingdom's unification at the hands of its founding commander King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud. He said the Kingdom is experiencing a great renaissance on all levels, which has an effect on developing the Kingdom's medical education sector.
"The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has become a role model for health education on a regional level, enjoying the patronage and generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. It has taken an active role in implementing strategic health plans and is expected to plan and supervise a flourishing future in health in the Kingdom. It has proved its pioneering role in the Gulf and Arab world and we hope it will become a global pioneer," he added.
Al-Rabeeah said there are no delays to the health insurance proposal and that committees approved by the Council of Ministers are still working on it.
The Ministry of Health runs the obesity file and has special centers for the treatment of this disease.
