Saudi- DNA results given to 115 Filipino moms
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Philippine Embassy announced Saturday that the Saudi Ministry of Interior has released the third round of DNA results for 115 mothers and their children.
"Around 115 citizens earlier underwent interview and a DNA test in preparation for repatriation to the Philippines," Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago told Arab News on Saturday.
They could not be repatriated earlier because they did not have documents and their children did not have birth certificates.
The Philippine envoy said that the embassy will call the mothers individually to officially inform them of their DNA results at the "Jawazat Wafideen" (passport department) at Shumeisy and to register fingerprinting and issue exit visas.
This is well within the Nov. 3 deadline announced by the Kingdom.
The third group brings the number of cases to 422 out of a total of 477, the ambassador said.
The Ministry of Interior also released the details of a second group of citizens who want to be repatriated to the Philippines and who had applied for DNA testing.
A total of 174 people were given numbers and their paperwork will be processed through the Jawazat Wafideen in Shumeisy starting Sunday.
