Turkey's largest refiner oil imports from Iran record boost despite US threat

(MENAFN) Turkey's major refiner Tupras has recorded a noticeable growth in its oil imports from Oran during the first four months within this year.

Reuters reported "in the first four months of 2018, Tupras, Turkey's largest refiner, bought an average of 187,196 barrels per day of Iranian oil, data from Turkey's energy watchdog EPDK showed."

The report added "in April alone, Tupras imported eight cargoes - equivalent to just over 240,000 bpd - from the OPEC member."

The figures indicate an increasing growth in cooperation between Iran and Turkey's cooperation despite the US decision to pull out of the Iran nuclear accord and despite threatening Iran oil exports to hit zero.
