(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Three candidates would be referred to the Presidential Palace for the post of Independent Election Commission (IEC) secretary, the poll panel said on Tuesday.
Based on Article 22 of the electoral law, the IEC has suggested Ahmad Javed Habibi, Abdul Basir Azimi and Afghan Khalid Fahim for the post. The Presidential Palace will pick one of them.
Last year, President Ashraf Ghani dismissed Imam Mohammad Warmach as IEC secretary. Shahla Haq was later appointed as acting secretary.
