5 Taliban dead, 7 wounded in Helmand clash


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Five Taliban militants have been killed and seven others wounded during a clash with security forces in the Greshk district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Monday.

Mohammad Saleem Razaee, the district€™s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban stormed the security forces€™ check-post in Adam Khan locality on Sunday night.

He said five militants and a policeman were killed and seven rebels and two security personnel wounded in the overnight fight.

A security official, who wished to go unnamed, said two police personnel including Commander Agha Mohammad were killed. Another commander was among the injured, he revealed.

However, Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi said three police commanders were among several personnel killed in the Greshk attack.The fighters suffered no causalities, he added.
