Germany: Andrea Nahles becomes first SPD female leader

(MENAFN) The German Social Democratic Party (SPD) has chosen Andrea Nahles as a successor for Andrea Nahles to become the first leader in an attempt to revamp the party.

It comes after Schulz stepped down as the SPD leader as a result of presenting the party with the worst outcome seen in around ninety years during the election held in September.

The new leader is anticipated to renovate and recuperate the SPD, as she makes sure party members avoid disputes with cabinet ministers.

In an address ahead of the vote, Nahles said "you can renew a party while it's in government. I want to prove that from tomorrow."
