Indian Prime Minister, German Chancellor hold talks in Berlin


(MENAFN) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed in Berlin for a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, with no disclosed details on the meeting.

The purpose of the talks is to share views following the end of the India prime minister's trip to London, however no particulars about the dialogue were presented.

Ahead of the meeting, DPA reported German government spokesman Steffen Seibert to have explained that "it speaks for itself that the Prime Minister of a 1.3 billion people is always a very welcome guest and interlocutor with us. We have intense economic interests."

The meeting is considered as the first to be held among the leaders ever since the German chancellor assumed her fourth term in office a month ago.
