Russia calls for meeting on Syria's strikes
(MENAFN) On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Western strikes on Syria constitute an aggression on an independent state that is standing in the frontline in combating terrorism.
Putin added that "Washington's acts further complicate the situation in Syria."
He reiterated that "Moscow calls for urgent UNSC session to discuss the US and its allies' strike on Syria."
Meanwhile, The Turkish Foreign Ministry has applauded the joint airstrikes on Syria by the United States, United Kingdom, and France, Turkish state news agency Anadolu said.
"We welcome this operation which has eased humanity's conscience in the face of the attack in Douma, largely suspected to have been carried out by the regime," Turkey's statement said, stating that punishing these crimes was an "appropriate reaction."
