(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, April 13 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II Friday received cables of good wishes from Jordanian officials as the Muslim world marks the occasion of Al-Israa Wal Miraj; the Prophet Mohammad's nocturnal journey to heaven.
The King received cables from the Prime Minister, Acting Senate President, Lower House Speaker, President of the Judicial Council, Chief of the Royal Court, President of the Constitutional Court, President of the Independent Election Commission, Chief Justice, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Directors of the intelligence Department, Public Security and Civil Defence and Amman Mayor and senior civic and military officials.
Also, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, received cables on the occasion from senior civic and military officials.
The senders stressed the importance of abiding by and following the ways of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, recalling His Majesty's wise efforts to maximize the voice of moderate Islam, in the face of all manifestations of extremism and attempts to infringe on the nation's present and future history.
They also expressed their appreciation for King Abdullah's efforts in defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other Muslim and Christian sites in Jerusalem and countering Israeli attempts to Judaise the city.
