Qatar- Pope greets llamas at Saint Peter's Square

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Pope Francis had some unusual company yesterday, when he welcomed three llamas at Saint Peter's Square in Rome.
Luigi, Buffon and Diendo travelled almost 700km with their owners on a pilgrimage from Ritten, in northern Italy, to see the 81-year-old Pontiff, the Kaserhof llama farm told DPA.
Owners Thomas Burger, Thomas Mohr, and Walter Mair also presented the Pope with white socks and a pope's cap made from alpaca fleece.
The llamas also paid a courtesy visit to Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who has previously visited the farm in Ritten that also raises alpacas.
