Military court jails Myanmar soldiers over Rohingya murders

(MENAFN) A military court has given a 10-year jail sentence to Myanmar soldiers on charges of having links to the murder of ten Rohingya Muslim men in 2017.

The soldiers are to be sent to prison for ten years with tough labor for "contributing and participating in murder", the military declared in its statement.

The statement which the military posted on Facebook confirmed 4 officers and 3 non-officers to have been charged for involvement in murders that struck the village of Inn Din.

It comes after the army issued a confession early this year, revealing that its soldiers have participated in what was called an ethnic cleansing.
