Commonwealth Games swimmer faces rape charge


(MENAFN) The jury has appeared in the trial of a Commonwealth Games swimmer,whose claimed responsibility of raping a woman after they went out in Cardiff.

Otto Putland,aged 24,who represented Wales at the Games in Glasgow four years ago,is set to stand before Cardiff Crown Court in rape charge.

The woman claims Mr Putland has raped after having physical affair with his friend and Olympic swimmer, Ieuan Lloyd.

Mr Putland, of Dinedor,close to Hereford,rejects the charge claimed against him.
