State tourism registry may appear in Azerbaijan in 2018
By Ilkin Shafiyev – Trend:
A state tourism registry may appear in Azerbaijan in 2018, Ruslan Guliyev, head of the Medical Support and Thermal Tourism Association of Azerbaijan, president of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GTHC), told reporters on April 10.
He said the creation of the registry will help improve coordination in this area, facilitate the monitoring and control over the activities of tourism entities.
'The creation of the registry will not in any way contribute to bureaucratic obstacles. The collected statistics will help coordinate the activities in this field more rationally,' Guliyev said.
The state tourism registry is being created upon the presidential order dated Sept. 1, 2016 with the aim of developing tourism in Azerbaijan and expanding the possibilities of using modern information and communication technologies in this field.
Companies and tourism entities will be able to enter information about themselves in this registry. In turn, the Culture and Tourism Ministry, together with the relevant public structures, will check the information entered by companies, hotels, or people in the system. The companies included in the registry will also be involved in all international events, programs to improve education and improve services.
