Malaysia:sand dredging ship capsizes leaving one dead


(MENAFN) Over one person has died as another 14 went missing after a sand dredging ship flipped off the southeastern coast of Malaysia.

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency declared that Malaysian relief crews are on search for the people who disappeared in the waters of Muar,a town in the coast of the Strait of Malacca.

Zulkifli Abu Bakar,MMEA Director General confirmed that the manufactured JBB Rong Chang 8 sand dredging ship,flipped over while carrying 18 people,as three of them were safely rescued.

The missing included 12 Chinese,an Indonesian and a Malaysian,as the authorities are still investigating the reason behind the incident.
