(MENAFN- Arab Times) KBA hires services of Oliver Wyman
KUWAIT CITY, March 21: In a bid to organize the labor market, reduce the number of workers and reform the demographic structure, the Public Authority for Manpower has proposed an integrated concept to approve skilled workers for 100 professions.
According to an informed source, conducting tests for workers in their countries of origin will now become a basic condition for approval of work permits. The policy will be applied gradually, starting with about ten technical professions including electrical work, carpentry, mechanic, iron bending and other industrial related works.
He said Public Authority for Manpower will engage an international company to carry out the test through approved institutions, not academies, in those countries.
The source declared that the specialized company will collaborate with about 5,500 approved institutes across the world, and three of them are operating in Kuwait. He stressed that the overseas test will reduce the rate of inflow of marginal workers into the country particularly into the labor market.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) has hired the services of Oliver Wyman Company to provide the bank business management consultations to evaluate the present work strategy of the bank including the local clientele's view of the banks, reports Al-Rai daily.

The sources pointed out the targeted strategy include defining the sources of worry for the clients in addition to supplying the banks with detailed perspective they need to make decisions in any business environment and ways to find solutions to such.
The sources added, the targeted strategy includes the ways to raise the level of the baking performance in addition to enhancing the communication of the banks with the clients. The sources went on to say in spite of the social activities carried out by the banks in terms of enhancing the national economy and adopting sustainable policy, they are still in need of re-evaluating their performance and finding ways to develop their services.
