(MENAFN) A policeman has been shot and injured,as he was filing a warrant at the house of a man charged of threatening his family in Florida.
Brian Dugan,Tampa police Chief declared that Officer Richard Lehr was rushed to a hospital in stable state after the firing.
Lehr and Officer Leigh Smith were reportedly serving a warrant in an a building flat,when the suspect, Walter Richard Jeziorski aged 35,started shooting.
Dugan highlighted a "mental health issues," as the incident is described as an example of what "officers deal with every day."
