Facebook removes Britain First pages over standards violation

(MENAFN) facebook was declared to have banned the anti-Islamic group Britain First and its leaders from its platform.

The decision was justified by saying that the group had breached the social media company's community values constantly.

It comes after both Britain First's leader Paul Golding and deputy leader Jayda Fransen were sent to serve a jail term for abuse that was religiously motivated.

London's mayor Sadiq Khan commented about the move, saying "their sick intentions to incite hatred within our society via social media are reprehensible, and Facebook's decision to remove their content is welcome."
