Chongqing top coffee trade hub in China
(MENAFN) With volume of coffee trade by the end of last year topped the amount in Shanghai and Yunnan, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has become the largest coffee trade hub in the country.
According to Chongqing Coffee Exchange, the volume of trade from June 2016, when the trade center was opened, to the end of 2017 in Chongqing reached 13b yuan.
General manager of Chongqing Coffee Exchange said: "London and New York are the largest coffee trading centers in the world, while Chongqing aims to become the third largest coffee trading center, so as to gain pricing power on the international market and change the existing industrial pattern."
The demand of coffee in China has been increasing year after year at an average growth rate of 20% each year, as it is expected to each over 600b yuan in 2020.
