PM Haider Al Abadi to announce victory when Daesh is fully defeated

(MENAFN)Iraqi forces are to confront the holdout Daesh terrorists in the western desert as they announced on Friday while Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi is looking forward to proclaim victory over them.

Al Abadi is waiting for the terrorists to be completely eliminated from the dry valleys and other hideouts that have helped them with sheltering themselves, so he would finally announce victory.

Joint Operations Command stated that troops and paramilitary Hashed Al Shaabi forces "launched a major drive to clear areas of the Al Jazeera region between Nineveh and Anbar provinces in the second phase of operations."

Launched on November 23, the operations first required that the government forces move south from Nineveh and north from Anbar, erasing Daesh from large parts of the desert between the Tigris and Euphrates valleys.
