Qatar- QFC signs MoU with CLJS at Ministry of Justice

The Qatar Financial Centre has announced the signing of a MoU with the Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies (CLJS) at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).
The agreement looks to establish and develop continuous and mutual cooperation between both parties in the fields of legal education and training, development of legal skills and dissemination of legal knowledge.
Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Nasser Al Taweel, Chief Legal Officer at the QFC Authority stated: 'This agreement helps bring together two important entities to ensure the continued development of the State of Qatar. The cooperation between the QFC and the MOJ on a number of fields is a vital step in providing a unique and world class legal environment for businesses in Qatar.
He continued: 'Organising joint symposia, debates, seminars, visits and workshops is, and will continue to be, central to the success of the QFC and to the continued development of Qatar's business, legal and regulatory environment.
On her part Fatma Abdulaziz Bilal, Director of the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre at the MOJ stated: 'The Ministry of Justice's Legal and Judicial Studies Centre remains committed to supporting the enhancement and development of legal and judicial trainings in Qatar. Our cooperation with the QFC Authority to implement such programmes is of utmost importance and further serves our national duty to strengthen and support local bodies working in the field of training. This MOU will allow us to further develop and grow the legal training sector, and it also emphasizes the importance developing the financial and banking sectors in Qatar.
Professor Fatma Bilal reiterated that the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre, which collaborates with worldwide training and legal development institutions, seeks to provide the best training and practical programmes in Qatar. She concluded by welcoming the cooperation with the QFC Authority and wished all trainees success.
The QFC's international award winning Legal department provides a comprehensive set of in-house legal services and is at the centre of the strategic development, enhancement and advocacy of the QFC's legal environment.
The QFC's legal environment provides an internationally recognised platform for leading Qatari and international companies to expand in Qatar or overseas from the QFC.
This in turn supports Qatar's economic development and diversification efforts and contributes to knowledge and expertise sharing in Qatar and beyond.
