Fire Breaks Out At Kabul's 'Bush Market'


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) A fire broke out at Kabul city's well known 'Bush Market' at about 10am on Tuesday morning, reported .

Eyewitnesses said firefighters managed to bring the fire under control but a number of stalls and shops were gutted.

The Bush Bazaar, in Quwayi Markaz, in PD2l, is made up of hundreds of stalls which sell a wide range of goods, including electronic devices, clothes, sporting goods among others.

The market originally started in 2001 after then US president George W. Bush sent in troops to repel the Taliban.

The market was named after the former US president, especially as goods sold at the time were reportedly pilfered from NATO military bases are consisted of mostly military-oriented goods.
