Dubai Judicial Institute's Publishing House Launches 10 New Books at Sharjah International Book Fair

(MENAFNEditorial) Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 31st October 2017: Dubai Judicial Institute's (DJI) publishing house is participating in the 36th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which will be held at Expo Center Sharjah from the 1st to 11th November 2017.

In its pavilion (P9, Hall 3), DJI will present 10 new publications in addition to over 200 diverse works and six specialised series, including a series of updated laws issued in the country according to the latest amendments, as well as several legal, scientific and practical judiciary works that are exclusive to DJI.

His Excellency Judge Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of DJI, commented: 'We are pleased to participate in SIBF for the tenth year in a row as it offers us an ideal opportunity to present our diverse legal and judicial books, which aim at spreading legal awareness in the community and raising standards among all professionals who are dedicated to justice in our beloved and law-abiding nation. In addition, we will launch our latest technical applications, which are designed to encourage lawyers, jurists and arbitrators to join DJI's database of the country's leading legal and judicial staff.

Al Sumaiti added: 'SIBF is an ideal platform for showcasing a number of modern works by Emirati jurists, which we have printed and published as part of a series of scientific publications that we launched four years ago to encourage Emirati law students and practitioners to engage in legal and judicial research, and the drafting of state legislation and laws. We will also present our activities in the field of training and legal development by sharing information about our training programmes with attendees.

In addition, DJI will organise book signings for three new titles in its series of scientific research and studies, namely ‘Provisions of Mediation in the Conclusion of the Insurance Contract A Comparative study between Egyptian, UAE and French Legislation' by the Dubai Police Academy professor of civil law Dr. Medhat Abdel'Al; ‘The Legal System of Time-Sharing Contract A Comparative Study' by Dubai Court Judge Dr. Khawla Ali Al Abdouli; and ‘100 questions and 100 Answers on Commercial Arbitration' by Secretary-General of the Dubai-based International Islamic Centre for Reconciliation and Arbitration Dr. Abdul Sattar Al-Khuwaildi. The final title also includes an appendix with some of the fatwas, concurrence decisions and international and regional agreements issued in the field of arbitration in accordance with the draft federal law on arbitration for 2017.

DJI will also introduce ‘Traffic Law' in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu. Alongside these publications, a new issue of DJI's quarterly magazine focusing on child-related topics will be available in its pavilion, as well as a new issue of its scientific magazine ‘Al Mohakama', which is the first and only magazine in the Middle East to publish legal and judicial studies related to information technology and modern sciences.

These publications are an important addition to the Arab Legal Library, especially as DJI has established cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding with scientific and training institutions at a local, regional and global level.
